Muscle injury slow to heal due to Exemestane?
I tripped and didn't fall back in April. Immediately thought I broke my femur or hip the pain was shooting everywhere around the hip and down the upper leg. Long story, shortened. Xray ok. Therapy recommended. Got stronger. Didn't help the pain which is only there when I walk. I sit for a lecture or whatever and the initial steps after that are severe pain. It eases from an 8 to about a 2-3 after I have walked a distance. I have to use a cane or a walker now. Just wondering if the way the muscles are acting, if Exemestanes affect on tendons and mjuscles could add to the non-improvement. Any thoughts?

I've read that all of the Aromatase Inhibitors interfere with wound healing, and i assume that their effects on muscles and tendons also factor in. My own experience is that i injured the bottom of my foot a few months into taking Letrozole. A hard lump of tissue formed that should have dissolved and over the last 3 years, the bones have shifted around. The original injury (metatarsal head) is still quite painful if i press on it and when i walk for any length of time. My left arm started being achy/sore almost immediately and it's worse after 3 yrs. on Letrozole; a scan this year showed calcifications in the shoulder joint and tendonitis. And last but not least(!), i've had lower back pain for the first time ever, worse each year, and can no longer sit on the floor and need to be very careful about how long i sit at all.
How long have you been on Exemestane? I'm so sorry you're going through everything you're going through. It sounds awful. And if it was me, i wouldn't stop at one x-ray. Something serious is going on in there (muscles, joints) and some kind of specialist should figure out exactly what's going on.
