Mucous clearing out of lungs

Posted by kyleb5953 @kyleb5953, Jul 1 4:13pm

What is the best way to clear the large amount of mucous out of your lungs. I have tried a few of the Mullien liquids, but they have done nothing. I really need to breathe better than I am these days. HELP !!!

@chickytina, @sueinmn, mjb24, thank you for the replies. I have been on a short vaca and just getting back to these messages.. I actually had a low dose lung scan last month and it came back food with no issues at all. Should I request the nebulizer from my doctor, or can I just order from Amazon...? I will also look for that book. I think i really should quit and get started. I'd hate to retire next year and not last long enough to get my SSI. LOL

@kyleb5953 I assume since you went for a CT that you are seeing a doctor about this issue. I went for months, probably close to a year before I finally made an appointment and that was a huge mistake. By the time I was diagnosed, I was very ill and have lung damage that could possibly have been avoided or at least diminished. I had quit smoking and assumed my lungs were just cleaning up but that was not the case. So please do see a good pulmonologist if you haven't already. As for the nebulizer, you can buy the saline and a nebulizer online without a prescription but your insurance won't cover it where they may with a prescription. Hope you have success with Allen Carr's book. I quit after 43 years and can't begin to tell you how freeing it is. Not to mention how good food tastes now.
