Thank you all so much for your responses. I finally got a call this morning from California Protons clinical coordinator and he was a able to pull my records from UCI while I was on the phone. He emailed me a DocuSign form for me to sign to release images from UCI, which I did. He said he will set up a consultation early next week.
California Protons is only 75 miles from my house. I will use Phoenix proton center for second opinion.
My PCP suggested that I should pick a Medical Oncologist wherever I am getting radiation treatment.

Hi Ava11, I'm not sure of your situation. I had proton beam therapy at Phoenix, but it was over 5 years ago. When I decided to use proton therapy, I contacted them to be a patient. They requested my biopsy, which was 4+4 Gleason score. After they got the results, I was accepted within a week and had an appointment within another week. They did MRI to ensure the cancer was contained in the prostrate. After it was confirmed no spread, I began ADT and proton therapy in 2 months. I just finished my 5 year checkup and PSA is >.10 and in good shape.

My experience with Phoenix Mayo is the most knowledgeable, professional and client oriented staff I've ever had with any medical facility. I can't speak to the situation now, but I would try and use them again.

Thank you Waynen. Things are finally moving to get an appointment at California Proton center. That would be my first choice. I may use Phoenix Proton center for second opinion.

I got a call today from Phoenix Intake coordinator and found out Sameer Keole Md is replaced by some other doctor for prostate cancer treatment. I am no longer interested in pursuing treatment at Phoenix Proton center.

@ava11.
You are going to get a lot of different recommendations on your question. Best thing to do is research at major facilities offering Proton Radiation for Prostrate Cancer.

Rochester Mayo in my opinion is the best facility offering proton radiation and different ways or treating your cancer based on your specific cancer and conditions. Phoenix Mayo would be second.

I live in Jacksonville area but Mayo Jacksonville does NOT offer proton radiation treatments (only photon) but are building a new cancer center that will have proton in coming years. I had my proton radiation done a University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville. They are outstanding facility and have been doing proton radiaton treatments there since 2006.

They have upgraded their 5 proton radiation gantries to the newest and most techical advanced treatment devices available. My oncologist/radiologist has done thousands of proton radiation treatments and specilalizes in prostrate proton radiation. UFPTI received a 125 million dollar research grant to stuy prostrate cancer treatments and research so they do a lot of research and apply them to their treatments.

If you are around Jacksonville area or can't got to Rochester Mayo or Phoenix Mayo I would recommend UFPTI as another outstanding facility. I think UFPTI has treated over 30 different countries and patients from every state in union. Mayo Jacksonville referrs patients to UFPTI when proton radiation is warranted for things like eye, throat, brain cancers because proton radiation unlike photon does not exist body but stops where programmed to so there is less damage to organs and tissues from the outgoing radiation.
