MIS-TREATMENT OF BROKEN VERTABRA
Why do doctor's treat patients differently when you fracture a leg or arm bone than when you fracture a vertabrae? It's still a bone but they act like it's a pulled muscle. When I fractured my femur I was in the hospital for 3 days, given strong doses of pain shots, then put in a re-hab center for 3 weeks. When I broke my vertebrae I was told to rest for a week or so and see a spine specialist. They couldn't see that I was in excruciating pain, I would scream out every time they tried to move me. Yet they acted as if it was nothing more than a pulled muscle. Has anyone out there been through anything like this and, if so, what have you done about it? Any idea why they think a broken or fractured vertebrae is less painful than a broken or fractured bone? I've gone through this 5 times now & am at the end of my rope with no explanation from Healthcare. Thanks to anyone that can offer any suggestions and God bless any of you that are suffering the same thing.
Be at peace,
