Mild Sleep Apnea caused by high epiglotus
In 2022, I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea almost exclusively when sleeping in supine position. I was not able to get used to CPAP, or dental appliances so I tried to sleep on my side with the help of positional devices by Zoma. I still did't feel well rested when I wake up and still had dry mouth. I saw a Cedar-Sina doctor earlier this year who conducted a flexible fiber optic larygoscopy and determined that the primary anatomical basis for my sleep apnea is probably the narrowing cused by my elevated epiglotus. Given that, she said I am less likely to do well with Inspire or specific tongue base treatments. She believes a hyoid suspension procedure could potentially be effective in my case.
Any input from support group members regarding my sleep issues and potential solutions will be much appreciated.
