Can prednisone cause memory problems?

Posted by paulagcl @paulagcl, Jun 24, 2023

I'm finding the site a little confusing -- now can't find my post to see if there's an answer. I'm wondering if prednisone can cause memory problems.

Yes prednisone can cause brain fogginess. I'm having fun (not) already dealing with the fog of fibro and now prednisone for the PMR. Life's a beach.
I may have spelled beach incorrectly. 😸

My backup:
'The results of Study 2, a prospective, longitudinal study of the effects of prednisone on memory across three months of therapy, suggest that even acute treatment can adversely affect memory.'
It is mostly reversed once we're off of the medication. I do a game app before bed to relax and help with concentrationtion as well as memory.

Sure. I played word games such as finding as many words with a number of letters, but got burned out and now play Find Differences by Veraxen. I use it on my android phone. It does come with ads between each game so I just close and reclick it. I hate ads so much, I no longer have cable!
There are games that target menory and/or concentration specifically. Have fun finding a good one. And share please!

I play Sudoku on my phone. I play all different times of the day and monitor my times. I have quicker times in the morning.
