Meditation, anyone?
I’ve been a casual meditator for years, and have lately been looking for support as I taper down the (hopefully) last leg of Prednisone use. I’m currently at 3mg. I have trouble clearing my mind while meditating so I recently bought electronic singing bowls (Amazon, $129), set them to 528Hz for 15 minutes, and I was stunned by the difference in my shoulder pain afterwards. It was gone, and stayed gone the rest of the day. I now use them daily as part of my morning routine. Some days are still better than others, but the overall experience has been really beneficial for me. Has anyone else found relief this way? Photo below.

I have engaged in a daily mediation practice for 55 years and use singing bowls for other purposes but your remarkable experience is totally new to me. Thanks for the idea, which I will look into.

2 ReactionsInteresting idea; thanks for posting this. Did you ever try one of the streaming audio service’s singing bowls channels?
@mark2471 , I had in the past from time to time, mostly to help me get to sleep. Maybe because I don't have good headphones, I'm finding my electronic set much more powerful. I like having the sound in the room with me, and placing the speakers on either side makes for a nice effect. I can't explain why they're working so well on my PMR pain, but sometimes I'm willing to just be glad for whatever works. Thanks for responding !

1 ReactionI’ve been a very casual meditator since I was always healthy & thought I didn’t need anything. Arrogant, eh? With PMR & fury at my body it produced I decided to look at insight Timer & stumbled on a 30 min sound experience that really calms me down. So now doing ever afternoon even when I feel fine. I’m now at 2.5 prednisone & still using methotrexate but so far so good. Walking every day keeps body parts oiled up ! This is what I use to be calm:

3 ReactionsI have discovered a wonderful guided somatic guided meditation series on YouTube. Wendy Jones has such a lovely voice and cadence. I also have learnt so much from her as she explains the vagus nerve and helps you to visualize the healing. Absolutely wonderful!

1 ReactionSky Breath mediation from the Art of Living has been absolutely essential for me. I’m down from 20 mg of prednisone to 1.5 and feel great - still tapering. Cannot recommend it highly enough- a game changer! Instruction is available on line. https://event.us.artofliving.org/us-en/artoflivingpart1/
