How might heart disease make lung cancer treatment difficult?

I have a 2.4 by 4.5 mass in my lung. Going for a pet scan this week. My doctor seems to think it is cancerous. I also have heart failure. Is the heart failure going to make treatment difficult?

@caralion I can definitely empathize with how you're feeling. it's overwhelming and you want to do everything and nothing at the same time. you said you have a PET scan this week. have they ordered a brain MRI, as well? when do you see your doctor again?

@mamajite pet scan results show "hot spots" in 4 areas with SUV from 3.42 up to 14.99. I'm waiting to see what happens next. I have an appointment on the 11th but hopefully they will get me in sooner. Not sure what it all means yet.

@caralion I'm glad you had your PET scan done. this time when you know something's wrong, but don't have a plan (I think) is the hardest. where were the hot spots on the PET? and did they give you a SUV for the lung mass?
