I have PN and I use marijuana for the symptoms. I have started to grow my own marijuana so I know what exactly is in the buds.

I also take 2700 mg of Gabapentin but I am going to ween off of this pharmaceutical and try a supplement called Stonehenge Dynamic Nerve. It should arrive on Saturday, so we will see...

I also take Cat's Claw supplements, a vine from the Amazon used for centuries to sooth arthritis.

Cheers,
Jill

@jillchristline Let us know how coming off the Gabapentin reducing goes and the addition of the new supplement. I would be interested to know if it works for you. My husband has had neuropathy for many years, pain and numbness. We understand that the gabapentin can possibly be a cause of dementia so looking to get him completely off of it.

Thanks for the add. I've been taking Gabapentin for a couple of years and have not noticed ANY IMPROVEMENT. I live in NM so I can get medical cannabis. Any recommendations? Thanks

@padre I DO know that marijuana is the best anti-nausea relief EVER!

I get nausea from all the different neuropathies. I have severe axonal sensorimotor peripheral polyneuropathy, dysautonomia, small fiber neuropathy, CIDP and cardiac autonomic neuropathy but mine is autoimmune. I take Panzyga which is IVIG that works really well for me. I take it every three weeks for three days. It works well on the cardiac autonomic neuropathy with the arrhythmia, my balance, dizziness, tremors from the motor neuropathy. It is also helping my muscle atrophy caused by the neuropathy. I can finally write my name and write a letter. My neuropathy is autoimmune. I have and the lupus. Sojourns, mixed tissue disease and Hashimotos. I have problems throwing up and loosing weight. Then after about six months I gain it back. Its frustrating I have to buy two different size clothes. Right know I weigh 155 been throwing up. When it goes away I gain weight. It feels like I gain weight over night. With the marijuana I could sleep through my the night without the nerve pain. I didn’t wake up at two am in pain. My neuropathy has progressed where it’s also in my heart. I was just telling you my experience with it. You seemed to have focused more on the nausea than being able to eat. My Neuropathy progressed to anywhere you have nerves. There is also a study about neuropathy and marijuana along with possible nerve regeneration. Listen to Dr Anne Oaklander. Do not focus on small fiber neuropathy. There is a lot of information there. Have you been tested for small fiber neuropathy? Most people have both. I was an RN.
Israel has done a study on marijuana, neuropathy and nerve regeneration.
Other articles show it can make it worse truthfully not enough research on marijuana and nerve regeneration.
