Manufacturer (Fresenius Kabi) is Out-of-Stock for Tyenne
I talked to Customer Service @ Fresenius Kabi today and learned they are out-of-stock on Tyenne and do not know when it will be available again. My local Walmart Pharmacist suspects it could be months. I have taken 6 Tyenne injections (of 26 weekly injections) for GCA and have been simultaneously tapering Prednisone - currently @ 15mg. I am waiting to hear from my Rheumatologist with her instructions. BTW, Actemra is not an option for me because my insurance does not cover that medication.
Thought I would share this in case someone else faces the same problem.

Does your insurance cover Rinvoq? It is approved for GCA. Unfortunately it can take up to 3 months to take full effect. In any case it sounds like you will need a higher dose of prednisone to get you through this time. It's too bad about the Tyenne.
@jeff97 Well, sort of. According to insurance website, my out-of-pocket for a 90-day supply of Rinvoq would be $21,483.94. But then again, my Rheumatologist has never prescribed Rinvoq for GCA (and would not). I don't recall exactly what she said but even though approved by FDA for GCA (in April 2025), she intimated that it was not widely prescribed in Rheumatology "circles." In any case, Rinvoq is a no-go. Thanks for your comments.
I received Actemra monthly infusions, until no longer covered. My Rheumy switched me to Tyenne. She then notified me that “everyone was out of Tyenne” and now I am receiving TOFIDENCE. It’s still tocilizumab, the same active drug in the same amount. I have only had one infusion of the new drug, but I don’t notice any difference. I diagnosed with GCA Feb 2025, started 60mg prednisone and monthly industrious. I have been prednisone free for four months, but still receiving the monthly infusions. I hope this helps your inquiry.
