MAI (MAC) medication side effect?

Posted by happyhealthyme @happyhealthyme, 2 days ago

I'm wondering whether this would be a side effect from a medication I'm taking for MAI (MAC): When lying down, I get terribly dizzy as my head hits the pillow, so much so, that I garb on to the sheet on both sides of my mattress and hold on. Please note that I'm o.k. getting up; it's the lying down that brings on the dizziness. The medications I'm on are: Ethambutol 400mg / Rifampin 300mg / Azithromycin 500 mg
Does anyone else on this forum suffer such a side effect from (any one of) these MAI (MAC) medications?

I have been on these same 3 meds for MAC, taken 3 days a week 2hrs after breakfast, since being diagnosed 6 months ago. Have sputum cultures & bloodwork every 3months. Thankfully have had no side affects. I am 80 yo & was diagnosed over 50 years ago with Bronchiectasis, for which I nebulize both albuterol & sod chloride 3%, followed by vest percussion & Symbicort inhaler twice a day faithfully; also use an albuterol inhaler as needed. Very time-consuming but necessary & enables me to exercise 5 days a week & be active. When I read some of these posts of what trials you all are going thru, I hurt for you & truly know how fortunate I am. My thots & prayers are with you.
