MAC treatment and fluid retention? Anyone?
Just curious if this sudden onset of severe fluid retention is possibly due to the medications.. also taking an anti fungal that lists it as a possible side effect. This is with a diuretic.

I had extreme swelling in my ankles when I initially started azithromycin and ethambutol. Of course the doctors said it wasn’t the medication but I was sure it was. I had never experienced that before. They referred me to my PCP who couldn’t find a reason for it and also thought it could be the medication. Anyway, he prescribed a water pill for a couple of weeks and I’ve been fine ever since.

I have been on the big 3 for 16 months. I had to stop Ethambutol due to eye problems but remain on the other 2. in April my legs especially my right one started swelling really bad. no one can tell me the possible cause but can't imagine there isn''t a reason for this to happen all of a sudden. Has anyone else had this problem related to MAC? JJ
