I need help with tolerating MAC antibiotics please
I was diagnosed with MAC in June. I began with Azithromycin, Ethambutol and Rifabutin. Daily I am nauseous and dizzy and lack an appetite- any advice on how to tolerate these meds?

@sayaboleh Dr. Zha said not to take Azithromycin close in time to dairy products but didn’t say not to eat dairy. I either take Azithro very early in the morning or right before bed with ethambutol. Haven’t decided what works best yet for me. But during the day I definitely have dairy—cottage cheese or yoghurt.
@cktowle, As far as taking all 3 antibiotics at 9am, I would not be able to do that. My routine is to start with a light breakfast, always oatmeal. After a few bites, I take my azithromycin. I continue to eat my oatmeal. After about 20 minutes, I take my ethambutol, then continue my oatmeal and avocado. After finishing breakfast, I wait 2 hours then take the rifampin. (Instructions say to take on empty stomach, at least 2 hours after and 1 hour before a meal.) I wait another hour, then eat lunch. During and after lunch, I start my herbal supplements and probiotics. (See my other post about these, which help with the nausea/digestion.)
Io li prendo tutti la mattina presto e dopo 1 ora faccio colazione (leggera). Con il tempo il corpo si abitua e gli effetti indesiderati passano.

1 Reaction@grammanew Our member @dantur posted this helpful reply for you:
"I take them all early in the morning and after 1 hour I have a (light) breakfast. Over time the body gets used to it and the unwanted effects pass."
Just weeks ago, they were in the same place that you are now, so it is good to know there is relief ahead.
