M to F surgery

Posted by dsjohnston53 @dsjohnston53, Oct 24, 2023

I had male to female reassignment surgery about 12 years ago. However, my surgeon caused a fistula, and I was on a colostomy for 13 months. They could not close the tear and ended up suturing my “vagina” shut. Obviously, very depressed. Would love to talk to someone who has experience the same as I feel very lonely. Thank you.

Good gawd! I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't relate, but I thought –– since this board has been so sleepy lately –– I'd at least acknowledge your message so that you know it's been seen. I hope others see it and reply to you, too. I'll be watching. Take care! ––Ray (@ray666)

Yes, she is no longer on the colostomy. Vagina was permanently suture shot. I was hoping to find others who have the same experience for her to connect to percent of support.

Part of the reason I want a Vulvoplasty, it’s safer.

I would like to have it in June. I am a retired teacher but still work as a para until in 62. So it will give me the summer to recover if I can get it done in early June. I have my consultation this week on November 10. I am so excited.

I work with Plume with my HRT Therapy. I have already been able to change my name and gender. I so look forward to having the Volvoplasty. I might still do facial surgery but I think that will be enough other than working on my voice.
Each of us needs to choose what is right for us. I am happy to be on this journey.

Best of luck to you! I am looking for a physician or endocrinologist to help with HRT. You mentioned Plume. Is that a doctors name or what? . You are fortunate to have so many options today, when I transitioned 12 years ago, it was very different. I am happy you’re enjoying the journey!

Thanks, Plume is an organization, they have Sr’s and help you get your HRT, I wirk with a doctor there named Latasha Warren who is wonderful. They cost $99 a month or with insurance only $40..
Thanks Again,
