Hello @elainejarrett and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You’re looking to connect with other members who have a lymphoproliferative disorder.

Lymphoproliferative disorders are actually a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled production of white blood cells called lymphocytes. There are many blood conditions related to this disorder so it would really be helpful if I knew the particular diagnosis. That way I can connect you with fellow members who can share some insights with you.

Have you been diagnosed with a particular lymphoproliferative disease?

Hi @elainejarrett, If you could help me narrow down your diagnosis a little more it will aid me in finding members with your condition so that you can connect with them.

Low grade B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (B-NHL) is a group of lymphoproliferative disorders. They generally each have their own mutations which are unique to the disease. It can sometimes make a difference in how it’s treated, and impact the severity and aggressiveness of the disease.
These subtypes can include the following cancers:
B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (B-CCL/SLL),
lymphoplasmacytoid lymphoma (LPL)
follicular lymphoma (FL)
mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (MALTL)
splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocytes (SLVL)

Have you been diagnosed with one of these?

Hi @elainejarrett I thought a good place to learn a little more about your diagnosis would be through some informational articles. The links to two articles are listed below. The first one is from the Mayo Clinic discussion lymphoma conditions, symptoms and how the disease is diagnosed. There are several pages so make sure you read to the bottom of each page, that will take you to a link to the next page.
The second article is from the Cleveland Clinic and has similar information about the B-cell lymphoma.

As I mentioned before there are several types of B-cell lymphomas so I wasn’t sure which group to connect you with. But felt the following might be a good launching pad for you.
Non Hodgkin's lymphoma

May I ask how long ago you were diagnosed? Has your hematologist/oncologist discussed treatment for you if you’ve not already started?

My husband has a rare B-cell lymphoma, a lymphoproliferative disorder. Mayo's blood tests don't give much more information than this. He was treated with Rituxin, and has recovered.

I am so happy to hear he has recovered and it gives me hope too. May I ask how long he was on Rituxin for and what side effects he experienced. Did he start treatment when symptoms started? Thanks so much for this.

He had 4 treatments, 1 per week of Rituxin. Then a 3-week break. Then 4 more treatments, each separated by 3 weeks. He was very ill before treatment started. As soon as it was identified, he started treatment.
