i have 2 lymphoceles on either side of the bladder. Had the CT-based drainage procedure, currently monitoring the catheter-based drainage, which is heavy. I plan to have sclerotherapy, which inserts ethanol into the area, as soon as my IR lets me! The strategy is that this "scars" the tissues, and allows them to bind together, reducing or eliminating the size of the collection area. From what i understand it is a common follow-on procedure. I've talked to a few IRs who all use it, apparently it has reasonable success. Sometimes it takes more than one procedure to seal the drainage area. they just squirt the product through the catheter and wait 30 minutes and drain it out. Pretty simple. i might wait a week or two, but thats it! Im not carrying around these collection balls any longer than i have to. Google it for more info. Or find a Interventional radiologist.

thanks so much I appreciate it

I think we are both in the same boat. I am having the drainage procedure tomorrow and was told to expect a catheter for a week. He also discussed sclerotherapy if this becomes recurring
I hope it works out for you
