Someone asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. They had a draining tube And it had been a few months since surgery and they still had not been able to have it removed because there was so much liquid being produced.

Many are small and cause no symptoms, but larger ones can lead to pain, lower extremity swelling, fever, or pressure on organs.

If you are having problems, you should speak to your doctor about having these drained.

thanks I am a year out (RARP) and apparently have had this for a while until it recently became infected and abscessed. I am seeing someone later this week to hopefully have it drained. meanwhile on antibiotics

@edinmaryland I’ve heard from others that this can result from taking too many lymph nodes.
In my case, the opposite occurred as my surgeon only took ONE on each side 😖.
Sloan recommends 8-12 but ‘everyone is different’ and may react accordingly. Good Luck,
Phil

when did you have the prostatectomy? How long after did you discover the Lymphocyte?
Did they start with minor drainage and then have to put a catheter in?
I appreciate your feedback

@edinmaryland Had the op almost 7 yrs ago. Had no lymphocoele since not a lot were removed - only 2.
Your body produces lymphatic fluid and it usually collects in the nodes - like mini reservoirs; but when many are removed, the fluid drains and collects in a single place and forms a big single one.
I would talk to your surgeon if it doesn’t resolve.

apparently mine is pretty big almost as biog as my bladder. I am seeing a radiological interventionist tomorrow ( this person specializes in draining these. It is just the consult tomorrow although I wish it was the actual procedure.
I am now thinking that the two times I thought I had a hernia ( two months out and again at five months out, that it was likely the lymphocele. Both times, doctors told me they felt the bulge but then when I went to see surgeons they said I did not have a hernia. At least I know what it is now .

I had a bad infection/abscess reaction about two weeks ago fever, chills, sweating headache for 6 straight days before I went to urgent care.
Things seem to have calmed down although it is uncomfortable.
Anway thanks for the info
