Lung nodules post covid

Posted by hpyblst @hpyblst, Oct 29, 2023

I just found out I have 2 lung nodules plus a few micro nodules in my upper left lung, don’t believe they are malignant . I went into the Dr for severe weakness and fatigue. My last bout with COViD was 2/2022. I have not smoked since 1974 and I don’t have a history of lung issues in my family. These nodules are new soft tissue since my last X-ray 2/2022. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes. I just found out I have two nodules, one in each lung. Won’t see doctor till Wednesday but from what I read they’re most probably benign as well.
I have been suffering with Long Covid fatigue for 20+ months. My hematologist just ran a series of bloodwork for Epstein Barr virus and Sidon, from what I can deduce, it looks like I have active virus in my system. If this is the case, I read that Covid-19 can reactivate the virus and may be the culprit causing my extreme fatigue and other issues like body pain. I thought I’d mention this as it may explain what others are going through too. Feel better everyone.

Sidon is a typo. Have no idea what it means! Sorry

I am so sorry you are struggling. I have not had long-term Covid. I got better after a serious bout for two months in February March 2022 so in the last month is when this weakness has kind of taken over my body and caused me to just be pretty much bedridden.

Hi@hpyblst. My understanding from ER doctors/pulmonologist lung nodules common with many in this forum. As with all the other symptoms/experiences, they will differ greatly from person to person. Monitoring for couple of years through scans to assure no worsening to then be deemed “stable”, not cured/better, with then no future scan warranted. New unknown territory so “stable” is good and dont want to continue exposing to radiation/dyes unless new or worse condition arises. Healing to you🌈

@hpyblst, fellow member @law59 is right. Lung nodules are quite common.Respiratory illnesses and infections can cause nodules to form in the lungs. These abnormal growths are rarely cancerous. Most lung nodules don’t require treatment.

@bmd and @hpyblst, what is being recommended for you at this time? Biopsy or careful monitoring?

Meeting with doctor tomorrow. He may or may not want to do follow-up in 3-6 months as they are very low risk for malignancy.

Thanks for that information. I will be meeting with an internist in a few days to determine the next steps.
