Lumpectomy vs Unilateral mastectomy no reconstruction

Posted by heatherann77 @heatherann77, Apr 27, 2023

I am 46 and three weeks into my stage 1, IDC, HR+, HERS- diagnosis. I have two small tumors in one breast. My genetic testing came back negative so I have two options for surgery - lumpectomy with radiation or mastectomy of the infected breast. I have little reconstruction options due to my scoliosis so I'm debating between lumpectomy or a mastectomy without reconstruction. Did anyone have a similar decision to make and how did you make that decision?
