I’ll be doing my lumpectomy tomorrow. Scared and worried but it is what it is. Just worried about after surgery recovery 😖😞

Wish you well tomorrow. Stay positive. My lumpectomy went very well May 2025. Less then 2 cm. Lymph nodes negative. Now almost 1 yr later. Still a slight indent at the scar but no pain. The under arm was more tender. Be patient my range of motion was my most difficulty. By the 4 th week I was good. No lymphedema. Each case is different. Talk with your nurse team. Ask questions they will help. You can do this. Stay positive.

@qingjin16 :

Our thoughts and prayers shall be with you today, pray that your surgery goes smoothly well, speedy & successfully and all the lymph nodes are fine.

As for post surgery care, please keep in touch with your care team regularly via the patient's portal provided by your treatment facility - whenever you have any questions or concerns. My surgeon saw me right away when she received my message via portal, because I was scared that my chest turned bluish purple and swelling, that she wanted to prevent any complications or infections from the surgery. Luckily she was able to advise me with proper care to resolve all issues. Surely your post surgery recovery will be OK with all our prayers behind you.

Wishing you all a better journey ahead!

@qingjin16 surgery done. Currently taking Tylenol for the pain. Having a wrap around my chest area and placing a rectangle ice pack on top. Nurse said to only shower 2 days after. After surgery, came back and slept. So far so good. Thank you ladies for sharing your personal experiences and support. ☺️Nice to not feel alone and having strong women around me. 🥹 Thank you ❤️

I’m doing well now. I had lumpectomy and radiation at first then decided to have prophylactic bilateral mastectomy because of brca2 mutation. God gave me the strength to go through that surgery. I’m a chicken when it comes to surgery! The support I received from our sisters here was tremendous! Thank you all!
I didn’t know you’re still under radiation treatment. Make sure you ask for prescription cream to prevent/stop radiation burn and continue using it to at least two weeks after the treatment end. My radiologist refused to give me the prescription in advance so I used fresh aloe vera from my garden. I cleaned it well with soap and rubbing alcohol. I applied it right after each treatment (in the changing room) and reapplied few times during the day. I only had minor blisters under the nipple because I stop right after the last treatment. So make sure you continue it to prevent blisters.

I’m so sorry about your lymphedema. I had minor lymphoma and had to wear compression sleeve when fly. I had PT for lymphatic message and now am doing on my own. I pray that yours will go away. Your faith is strong and you’ll get through this. Yes, God is walking with us during this difficult times through our cancer sisters here. Hugs.

So great to hear that you’re doing well. Truly, the support here is a tremendous blessing.
I was trying to edit, but I was trying to text was it’s coming close to the 1 year anniversary of my last treatment. We all take one day at a time, asking questions and so forth and sharing knowledge, wisdom and hope. I truly believe that. Have an amazing weekend!🤗

@qingjin16 Listen to the doctor's recommendations regarding lifting. I was good after my lumpectomy but after the revision I went shopping two days later and was sore. Thankfully I was fine with a cold pack application and Tylenol. I didn't lose any should range of motion. I had no restrictions for that. I didn't have lymph nodes removed though. My best wishes for your recovery.
