ISO encouragement - pending biopsy

Posted by tiffanyfrok @tiffanyfrok, Jul 2 6:08pm

Hello, this is my first post. I am 47yo and about three weeks ago or so I found a lump on my left breast, on the front, directly above the areola. Last week I was sent for an ultrasound, then mammogram. I just had my annual mammo in March! It was not there then. They are wanting to do a biopsy and have given it a 4b rating on the BIRADS scale. I am really scared and have been a complete basket case over this. I just need some encouragement and to hear experiences of others. Thank you

I'm in your same boat...well similar anyway. 50 years ago this month I had a biopsy and lumpectomy. It was benign. My surgeon told me because it was fast growing it was not likely cancer and it wasn't. Now I'm 69 years old and recovering from tongue and thyroid cancers. I'm 2 years cancer free. During a routine scan last week they found something concerning on the same breast in the same area. It wasn't there on a PET scan 10/24. I will do the mammogram and ultrasound later this month. Its the waiting that's hard isn't it? I don't have much encouragement for you other than to say not all lumps are cancer...and I'm here with you.
