Losing my mind trying to get answers!

Hi all. Need your advice/ similar stories/vent session.

I am 29f who has been dealing with a right swollen tonsil for a year now. I had symptoms on and off that are now consistent and affecting my everyday life. Swallowing problems, sensation of something stuck on right side of throat, right side of neck tightness, hoarse voice. Two ENTs dismissed it - one said gargle with salt water and the other prescribed me gerd medication. Medication did nothing and so did the salt water rinse. They said tonsil is a grade 2 swelling and doesn’t qualify for a tonsillectomy. I tried every thing else you could think of as well to mend this. I had an MRI (no contrast) that showed nothing and next up is a biopsy of the tonsil (that I demanded from the doctor). I’m hoping the biopsy brings some answers but I am losing it in the mean time. It’s been a year and I am now at the point I can’t hold conversations from the strain on my throat or tonsil or whatever it is.

Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? What was your diagnosis?

I have had a right tonsil issue put for years. I’m 65 now & did have a ENT suggest removing them. YIKES! So, I have self diagnosed myself & I think it has to do with my wisdom tooth. I haven’t scheduled an appointment yet but I hope it solves my problem.

Monique16, In 2009 I had a sore throat . I went to the VA clinic in West LA. The Dr took a biopsy and determined that it was basil cell carcinoma of the tonsil. They recommended chemo and radiation. I passed on the chemo because my wife died from 7 years of chemo. I had 7 weeks of radiation. During that time I could not eat . Everything tasted like you know what! One day after the treatment I went to a Health Food store to try some carrot juice. Every day after that I had fresh organic carrot juice with ogrganic green powder full of good stuff in it. Vitamineral Green. After 3 or 4 weeks the oncologist examined my throat and said the tumor had shrunk considerably. He asked what I had been doing differently. The juice in the morning was the only thing I could tolerate. I lost alot of weight and the recovery lasted about 6 months or longer. One day I went to a buffet and tried everything to find out what I could eat. Lots of soups and the morning juice also with broccoli because it is anti oxident and other stuff from then on . There is a farmers market 1 block down the street I live on. Everything I get is pesticide free, supposedly.
I just had surgery for the same type, squamos cell. In 09 the VA thought that surgery is too invasive so I had radiation. I should have insisted on radiation this time but I thought the "dr knows best. " I am already, after two days , experiencing regret. Trust your intuition. I just read another comment that said the same thing. Focus on your breath. We can really only focus on one thing at a time. If your thoughts are only about your breath, there is no room for negative thoughts. "Visualize" your breath coming into your nose, going down your windpipe to the very bottom of your lungs, then breath out from the bottom to the top of your lungs through your
mouth. Repeat. Your thoughts will wander from time to time. Just like in meditation, go back to focusing on your breath. Peace, Larry
