Hello so back in September I passed out and was out for several mins I had many test done one being a zio patch they found 1 3.4 second sinus pause...a sinus 2nd degree AV block...and my pulse got as low as 40 bpm and as high as 197 bpm....I'm on BP meds since I was 19 years old....on Jan 20th of this year I had a loop recorder placed I haven't heard anything back about if anything has been caught on my recorder...all the things I stated below were found in 14 days...I find it strange I haven't received any calls letting me know how things are going? I'm very anxious about everything that's been going on with my health I'm 30 year old female almost 31 any help or advice is appreciated

Did they think the pause was significant or long enough to cause fainting ?

Hello @trishnlily, Welcome to Connect. I think it might be worth giving your doctor a call even if just to ease your mind a little. From what I've read it's one of those things that they just monitor and only call if they see a problem. Here's some information from Mayo Clinic that explains it a little better. "Your doctor will interpret the results of your test and call if he or she has any concerns. You'll likely need to see your doctor once or twice a year for routine checkups while the device is in place."

74 yr old male, loop recorder since mid 2023, Boston Scientific. Retired MD here, but not a cards doc. LR was placed for cryptic cva.. no residual symptoms, so may have been a "TIA". I have never had any arrhythmia symptoms, am fairly active for my age but not a gym rat. I just spent 2 weeks getting to and from Utah from Washington State via car and hiking with family and friends. We averaged about 6 miles per day on moderately diff hikes, two of the hikes were 8.x miles and I never had problems keeping up with others. This included two slot canyons with a pack and sig scrambling, for hiking 1.8 miles from Bryce Canyon entry at the bottom, and hiked about 3/4ths of the way to the rim of Bryce Canyon before turning back (not out of exhaustion).

I had 3 phone calls from the Cards office saying that I had had 2 or 3 pauses of over 3 seconds.. one they said was 8 seconds... all with no symptoms of any sort. I was likely sleeping for all but one of those events. I am in the habit of taking my own pules several times daily and never found my pulse to be anything but regular, usually about 60 to 70 bpm when resting. BMI 29 as an fyi.

I don't know if this site is monitored by an EPS MD.. but I have to wonder... what are the chances that a pause could be artifactual.
