Looking for hotels with recliners

Posted by tracy11 @tracy11, May 27 4:15pm

I will be headed to Mayo probably in July. I can’t sleep in a bed due to spine injuries (which on a positive note was how they found the cancer). Any suggestions? Thank you!

@tracy11 - For your July visit to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, finding a hotel with recliners is essential due to your spine injuries preventing bed use. Here are top recommendations, prioritizing recliners, proximity to Mayo Clinic’s downtown or Saint Marys campuses, and cleanliness, given your medical needs and preference for a comfortable environment.
Med City Inn & Suites (435 16th Ave NW, 1.5 miles from downtown Mayo) explicitly offers rooms with recliners, including accessible options with two queen beds. It provides free shuttles to Mayo campuses, complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and parking. Reviews praise cleanliness and affordability, ideal for your needs. Price: ~$100–$150/night. Call 507-289-2563 to confirm recliner availability and Mayo patient rates.
Candlewood Suites Rochester Mayo Clinic Area (1640 South Broadway, 1 mile from downtown) guarantees recliners in every suite, plus full kitchens, free shuttles, heated underground parking, and laundry. Its clean, modern rooms suit extended stays. Price: ~$110–$170/night. Contact: 507-361-6000.
Staybridge Suites Rochester – Mayo Clinic Area (101 11th Ave SW, near Saint Marys) offers spacious suites with living areas likely including recliners (confirm by calling). It features free shuttles, breakfast, Wi-Fi, and kitchens. Reviews highlight cleanliness and quietness. Price: ~$120–$200/night. Call 507-322-6318.
Avoid The Kahler Grand Hotel due to poor cleanliness reviews. Contact Mayo Concierge Services (507-538-8438) for tailored recliner accommodations or consider VRBO rentals with power lift recliners. Book early for July availability. Best wishes for your treatment

It has been a long time since I stayed, but townplace suites had a recliner in our one bedroom. The year before we stayed at extended stay and they had a recliner but it wasn’t super comfy.
I think the concierge at Mayo can get you a list of hotels so that you can call and find out.
Are you going to be at Mayo for an extended period?

Welcome to Connect @tracy11 .

You are speaking my language. I sleep in a recliner every night, no exception!

I have stayed several places around the Clinic and St. Marys Hospital areas and my latest go-to is Townplace Suites. https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/rsttm-towneplace-suites-rochester-mayo-clinic-area/overview/. They have breakfast, kitchenettes, exercise options, underground parking, and a coffee shop next to the lobby (a must for me 😀) I am underweight and bring a flat pillow with me because I find their recliners to be a bit hard, especially overnight.

There are many hotel options that will have a recliner available for their guests. I have included the Hotel Guide we have at Concierge Services. There you can see the different hotels and different services and accommodations they each have.
