Looking for help with food and drink with cirrhosis of the liver

I've been diagnosed (via bloodwork) with cirrhosis of the liver. I'm not sure if it's safe to drink non-alcoholic wine that has 0.5% alcohol or less typically.

My husband was a Nam Vet and diabetes with cirrhosis No fatty foods, drink coffee as his Houston Liver doctor said coffee is actually good for liver. Pay attention to everything you consume because there are things like fats that are good as well. I too have a fatty liver, but not cirrosis. However, fatty liver can turn to cirrosis. I am not a doctor, but I watched my husband go thru all the levels of the disease and it finally came down to having fluid pulled from his belly almost weekly. He lived 5 more years with a horrible final 6 months. Cirrosis can occurr from too much of certain meds which damage kidney etc. If you got this from alcohol, do stop while you can help yourself. Transplants are hard to get. The results of this illness progresses into something you do not want to visit. Read everything and ask everyone, be the one in the know. Bless you.

Thank you ever so much for your input. I am so very sorry about your husband and what you both went through. I have become a pescatarian (a vegetarian who eats fish) over the last couple of months. No meats at all. Ironically, some fatty fishes such as Salmon, Tuna, and Sardines are good for the liver. I remember coffee being a good one to drink. I am a tea drinker/lover, but plan to have a few cups of coffee during the week. Not one drop of alcohol. I was a fairly heavy drinker. Not an alcoholic or drunk, but enjoyed sipping on a few drinks every night. Hoping I caught it in time. I have an ultrasound coming up in a couple of weeks. Praying for good results. I don't have any symptoms, so this first blood test result came as a surprise. I have done a lot of research as to what foods and drinks are good or bad. Obviously, this is why I joined this forum.
