Looking for feedback - Lupron vs Orgovyx
I discussed changing from Lupron to Orgovyx with my Oncologist today. I am having good results on Lupron with minimal side effects. I would like to here the pros and cons from those of you who have experienced both. Thanks!

If you have three lymph nodes with prostate cancer, you need to be very careful about stopping drugs. Nubeqa Has very few side effects and almost everybody says they don’t really feel anything. On the other hand Orgovyx Has a lot of side effects since it reduces your testosterone to under 20. Switching to Lupron will do you no good, It works exactly the same as Orgovyx, Side effects are pretty much the same Because it’s the low Testosterone that’s causing the side effects not the drug itself.
Have you discussed getting those lymph nodes zapped with SBRT Radiation. If they’re accessible to do that, you really want to do it. Removing yourself from the drugs will just make the cancer spread and grow.
I had my prostate removed 15 years ago.
3 1/2 years later, I had salvage radiation because my PSA started rising.
I was on Lupron for six years and switched to Orgovyx. I’m also on Nubeqa. The two together have kept my cancer under control for over two years. The side effects have been identical, whether I’ve been on Lupron or Orgovyx.
When you stop Orgovyx Your testosterone comes back much quicker than if you are on Lupron. That’s a real advantage for most people and since both drugs do the same thing there’s no benefit switching from one to the other. I did it only because it cost me $800 less a year to be on Orgovyx.
