Looking for a post from someone in Washington DC

Posted by annie1 @annie1, Jan 31 7:05am

A month or two ago someone posted that they had spine surgery in Washington DC at George Washington University hospital I believe. I was trying to find their post that I cannot find it now. If anyone has had spine surgery in Washington DC with good results, or if you are the person who wrote that please private message me.

If you are in the DC area, go to John’s Hopkins for spinal neurosurgery!

Can you recommend the surgeon there for complex stenosis because I have osteoporosis and I'm 73.?

I am 79 & thinking about a fusion from S1-L3; I’m still interviewing neurosurgeons at JH; they are all very talented.

How long have you had your pain though? I'm worried about the fact that I've had it for a long time and I might have permanent nerve damage.

My pain started a very long time ago although it wasn't as debilitating until around 2021 but it did start really around 2017 and got progressively worse to the point where I was only sleeping about 2 hours a night because after I walked my calf muscles throbbed. I finally had laminotomy in March of 2024 without any hardware but that only lasted for four and a half months.
