@sirgalahad So sorry to hear about your friend. Cease or severely reduce sodium intake. Exercise to keep muscles with blood flow and reduce swelling, besides the movement will actually make you feel better. Coffee can act as a natural diuretic. Homeopathic remedies for aches and pains can include belladonna, which I have used before. Overall caution as to diet, not overdoing salt/sugar/protein all seem to help me. Having a circle of friends to support you is so important, as she knows by having you!
I hope she feels better soon, and that this helps a little.

@sirgalahad Good morning. This must be so upsetting for your friend, but I’m glad you are there to support her. Has she thought about making an appointment with a dietician at the local hospital? Also, what has the doctor said re: what could be going on and how it might be treated? Let us know, please. Becky

@sirgalahad Cold compress or heating pad, whichever make her feel better. Acetominaphen [Tylenol] if she can tolerate it. Gentle massage. Warm bath with Epsom salts. Perhaps some arnica montana, which is homeopathic and I have used it for bruising and muscle soreness before. The trick seems to be trying different things to find what works best. I was diagnosed with SLE in 1988, and have had a range of trials to see what works best. Gentle cyber hugs to you and your friend,
Ginger
