Long Covid & IVIG anyone?

Posted by SpicyKim @whoesonfirst, 1 day ago

Hello, I first got COVID 19 in January 2021. Long Covid 01/2021-present. I had Covid pretty bad, not hospital bad, but I probably could have or should have gone. I don’t remember much of the last few years or of yesterday for that matter. I have solid dose of LC, migraines, memory, cognitive impairment, chronic fatigue, muscle, joint pain and weakness, unable to stay focused or on task, or make simple decisions, my tongues hurts, and so on… So, my Neurologist suggested IVIG. I was looking around to see if there was a trial for one. No luck there. So my doctor put in an order and I start treatment in June. Do I have any LC IVIG compadres out there that care to share what they know about it the IVIG experience and outcome? I haven’t found too much information online. I hit NIH, YouTube and a few European sites. I would appreciate any feedback.
Thank you 😊
Have a healthy & amazing weekend!

It's like $10K per treatment [or so I'm told] and have your doctor hound the insurance company and eventually they will pay.

I have had many IVIG infusions (maybe 15 - 20 infusions). I can say it may have helped some left leg neuropathy, but not a lot. Otherwise, I have had no response.

I feel you there! I write down everything too. I panic when I forget where I put my notebook. I have learned to to it a few different spots.

Hi I don't write down. I am worried that if I do I may forget it all together.
Good news is it used to take me 15-20 mins to write this back down to almost normal.

Oops backto not writing things down.

When my daughter had CFS some 30 years ago, she received IVIG. It helped considerably, and then it became unavailable - not available anywhere. She was helped by it. It gave her more energy and more clarity of mind. Good luck. I hope you let us know your response, good or not so good. And may it be helpful.
