Trelstar (similar to lupron) shots was pretty mild. Only serious item was lack of stamina due to zero testosterone. Couldn't even do moderate hikes at Tahoe also have bladder control issues but that may be due to prostate removal I can pretty much do we everything except stamina

Note that my PSA wasn't very high. Only once reached 12. So I wasn't able to find which organ my cancer spread to after prostate removal despite 5 scans. Maybe that's why I survived so long

The next step. When your metastatic prostate cancer becomes castration resistant. Lots of trials going on. 32 multi clinic trials on UCSF website. However, I didn't find anything that extend life more than a few months on current treatments

Huge article on ncbi.nim.nih.gov dated June 2023 describe latest on mCRPC but the conclusion is sobering. MCRPC still represent a lethal disease......

More on avoiding the next lethal step mCRPC
Once you find out that you have mPC, you should do your utmost to avoid castration resistant since then ADT (lupron, elgarten, trelstar xtandi, etc) will likely not work. MCRPC under current treatments only extends 2-4 months to at most 2-4 years.

So be proactive in starting your ADT shots once you know you are metastatic. Before it spread to your organs, lymph nodes, or bone marrow I started with a PSA of 10 before the 5 scans saw anything
