Life with LEF 30% & low blood pressure

Posted by wandaonine @wandaonine, Jun 18, 2023

I had a massive heart attack on May 15, 2023 while vacationing in Canada. Had a stent placed I know have 30% low ejection fraction. PROBLEM is I have low blood pressure. So the DAPT drugs Lipinopril as ACE inhibitor and Metoprolol as BETA Blockers. Everytime I take the medication for 3 days my blood pressure drops 90/63 I get dizzy nausea sleepy & chest pains. All the drugs I’ve read about that are ACE inhibitors and BETA blockers are good to rebuild my heart but lower my Blood Pressure.
My doctor insists I take the medication.
Can anyone help me. Please.

I would think that your cardiologist could and should adjust your medicines. Dangerously low blood pressure, hypotension, is blood pressure lower than 90/60. It can cause dizziness, fainting and other problems. My husband had a massive heart attack, too, in late 2020 and has an EF of 20. It was much lower after his HA. He developed orthostatic hypotension(a form of low blood pressure that happens when standing up from sitting or laying down). He has fallen many times due to it resulting in blood clots to the brain, broken ribs, broken orbital bone etc. It’s under control again and luckily he has an excellent heart failure cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic. But your doctor needs to listen to you when you tell him you are feeling dizzy and that you think your very low BP is causing it. Too low of BP can be as dangerous as too high.
