Lexapro long term side effects?

Has anyone experienced severe fatigue, or any other debilitating symptoms with long term use of lexapro?

I’ve been trying to find the cause of my severe fatigue and other symptoms. I’ve taken lexapro for 5 years or so. Just trying to rule out all possibilities.

Witsend, have you talked about this with your therapist? Do they think that your symptoms may be related to Lexapro?

I don’t have a therapist. My general practitioner prescribed it for me. She switched me to it after taking Zoloft for awhile. My husband suggested a switch because of my constant tiredness and she thought switching to Lexapro might help with that.

I have talked to her about my severe fatigue…several times. She just doesn’t seem to understand how debilitating it is (along with other symptoms). She has mentioned before about “trying something else” (instead of lexapro) for the fatigue. However, I am convinced the fatigue has nothing to do with the medications as I have been struggling with it and other symptoms for years before I ever took any kind of medications.

I just thought I would post here about lexapro and see what others’ experience with it has been.
