Let's put some cheer : )))
This time of the year is for many (even for very healthy people) challenging and depression promoting, so let’s try to put some cheer in our small community by remembering “small things that can make us smile” no matter what ? The sight of our loved ones is an obvious choice, so let's think of the next best thing ; )- what sight, smell, sound or activity lifts your spirit at once ?
For me it is seeing any very tiny bird in my garden (warbler, finch, wren, vireo, hummingbird …) - I just melt instantaneously < 3 ! I LOVE watching their 100% enjoyment of every second of their life, always happy, always chatting, chasing, bathing - no matter what the weather looks like : )).
What is yours ? : )))

Just remember, recipes can be just a guideline. You can alter any to your taste. It took my abt 5 yrs of tweaking my bbq rub recipes to get them to where the judges like my bbq. It you use a recipe and make any changes, be sure and make a note as to what you did, or trust me, you will not be able to remember next time what you changed. Please don’t ask me how I know that. 🤫🤫🤫

3 ReactionsI run in the park across the street every day. I stop to pet dogs. There’s frequently dogs there. Try to get my dog fix every day. I know a lot of them by name and I know the owners and we talk.
One day there was a hawk in the trees.
Another day was a beautiful cloudy day.

Ha ha- I knooowwww !!! EVERY time I make that same mistake ! Some days person just gets inspiration and makes amazing new mix of spices or adds something new and is CERTAIN that it will be remembered next time ha ha , and sure enough - nope !!! I than swear I will write it down next time but than I make the same mistake again XP. My poor husband even tells me : "Oh, this is sooo good , what you did this time ??? Please write it down or you will forget !"
The most notorious experimentations are with fruit preserves XP - I really am exceptionally good with those but I like to experiment with adding spices or even brandy or a rum etc and than they turn out divine BUT of course by next autumn I do not remember what I actually did - pfffftttt XP ha ha

Oh that is AMAZING photo of a hawk !!! What a nice place for taking walks < 3 ! What part of SF is that : )))) ?
I know - it is so calming to play with dogs or petting them. I am also notorious for asking every single dog owner on my path for permission to pet XP , ha ha, but they are usually happy to "share". I love cats too and pet any that is willing to approach me , sometimes they follow me for couple of blocks after that which becomes worrisome with all RING cameras around - somebody might think I tried to steal their cat XP ha ha.
What kind of music do you enjoy ? Any favorite aroma that makes you happy ? : )

My wife sometimes will have two recipes for the same dish in front of her and decide which parts of each recipe she wants to follow.
She almost never follows a recipe completely, Tweaks here and there. The dishes she serves me taste really good.
Sounds like the way you cook.

The park is called Aptos playground. It is in Balboa Terrace Right next to Saint Francis Woods And Ingleside Terrace.
My wife and I go swing dancing most Saturday nights. There’s a live band about 12 minutes away from my house in a bar/restaurant with a dance floor. Lots of seats around the dance floor and lots of people come Friday and Saturday nights when the band plays. There’s a lot of regulars and a lot of new people all the time. No minimum, We have a couple of club sodas since we’re on blood thinner and can’t drink much alcohol. The band plays 70s 80s 90s music, and even newer stuff, lots of rock themes. People come from all over. One really good dancing couple comes from 50 miles away almost every Saturday night. Not a lot of places like this. The band has a piano player that has a piano and two piano synthesizer, Plays them all at once. There’s a really good drummer And a guitar player who also plays the xylophone and has a dozen Harmonicas with all different tones that he plays with songs. They have a singer and the guys sing as well. They have a sax player most nights. It’s a really great place to go and we know all the band guys they wave to us every night when we arrive. We even talk to them on the side when they take a break get to know their personal lives. Really fun place.

Oooooohhh, that sounds soooo niiiiceee !!!
Lucky you !
There is nothing even remotely like that in South Bay : (((. *sigh
Even 2 semi- decent places that existed before which had at least some dancing floor (pretty tiny) now closed down : /. People nowadays just don't dance nor listen to good music - just boozing and snorting and smoking of all kind of "substances" *sigh There are some nice restaurants in here but that is not "it" : /. And on top of it all your bar is just 12 min away from your place ?! : ))) . Youuuu, lucky-ducky !!! ; )
