Length of PMR condition

Posted by puppytlc @puppytlc, Nov 15, 2024

I'm over 2 years into PMR treatment and I can't seem to find a definitive answer as to how long my condition is supposed to last. My rheumatologist says "possibly" 3 to 5 years and that depends on variables. Although I'm able to work a physically demanding full-time job with the aid an arsenal of medications, I'm becoming increasingly discouraged and just wish I could "see" an end in sight. Thanks, y'all!

@tweetypie13 Just curious if you had any side effects from Kevzara? I will be starting soon after a year of prednisone did not put me in remission

@joyl263 first off, do a search of a Kevzara on this blog….lots of info.
I just preface by saying I have no other medical issues, and no other drugs, 79yo healthy woman before onset and now in remission.
I could not get off Pred without the Kevzara.
My journey when I started Kev I was at abt. 8 mg pred. Took 3.5 months to self taper off all pred. Kevzara takes up to 3 months to kick in.
I had only one side effect And that at abt 7 months with low blood work. (It’s common) . They extended up my Shots from every 2 weeks to every 3 weeks nd after 2 months my blood work was fine.
Good luck
