@vickykandasamy welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. As a “long term diabetic” have you ruled out peripheral neuropathy? I am 50ish years diabetic and can get this with my hands sometimes. (One or the other, sometimes both.) The joints in my knuckles lock up. My hands get numb, tingly and sometimes burny feeling. I have to shake them and massage my hands and fingers until it goes away. Good blood sugar control is the key to improving that.
You sound like a very strong person. Many people your age would not still be teaching or actively involved in life the way you are. That’s a huge positive factor for your health. I hope you’ll consider getting the further tests—they can help doctors help you stay strong and independent for years to come.
