Or did you have laser prostate laser surgery used to relieve moderate to severe urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate — a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)?
Wow, that sound so sci-fi!
Well, it sounds as though quite a bit of your prostate is gone, and in my case, having had it removed in its entirety via a RALP, I was advised to wait six weeks, if that's of some relevance for you, too.
I had RARP five weeks ago and am chomping at the bit. Mild affection has produced bonafide boners, but we've not gone any further. My incisions have mostly healed. Somewhat continent (leak when irritating bladder with too much coffee or alcohol). Six weeks seems to be the standard time frame, so suppose we could wait another week. But I'm very eager to see what results. I feel fine, but energy level has taken a hit.
I was treated for prostate cancer in 2010. It b was treated with 25 sessions of radiationb and Brachytherapy. Three years ago it returned stage 4 non-currable and metastisized on 2 ribs. I am now on hormone therapy taking 80 MG daily of Xtandi and my psa has remained at < 0.1 for almost 3 years. My issue is that my urethra has developed scar tissue which has required me to go to the ER a number of times not being able to void. The Urologist did the new OIU procedure which did not work. Two weeks ago he did the old OIU procedure cutting the scar tissue in half. That procedure worked, but I am now peeing frequently 24/7. This results in changing depends often. Does this ever stop? Also when ever I get hot flashes from the Xtandi about ever 2 to 3 hours, I also have to pee. Any advice?
I had a RALP in August. At my 6 week check up, my urologist asked about erections and sexual activity. I told him I was waiting for the go ahead and that some erections were returning. He prescribed Cialis daily and Viagra as “needed”. Both have been very effective. I must say, despite not “finishing” like I used to, the nerve sparing process was also very effective! Some of the most intense orgasms I’ve ever had!
@bastoid, this is a good question for your surgeon. I just want to clarify which procedure you had done. Did you have robotic prostatectomy to remove the prostate gland (treatment for prostate cancer?

The responses from fellow members will likely depend on what type of surgery you had.

1 ReactionHi there, I had green laser protatectomy. 60-70% of my prostate vaporised internally by green laser. No pain or aches afterwards.

1 Reaction@bastoid Wow. That sounds so cool. Wish I had that.
I wonder if they'd put my prostate back, so I can have it removed by lightsaber.
Oh - and the actual question.... I think at least 4 weeks. You gotta let everything heal.
