Laryngeal Hypersensitivity and Nerve Pain: What helps?
I have had extreme pain in my throat triggered by eating, talking, breathing, and drinking anything other than room temperature water. I don't have any cough or voice issues. I was misdiagnosed with glossopharyngeal neuralgia, but recently saw an ENT who said I have laryngeal hypersensitivity/laryngeal sensory neuropathy. This may have been caused by a virus and further nerve damage from medication and a procedure with a tube down my throat. I am currently getting superior laryngeal nerve blocks. Anyone else dealing with something similar? Any treatment recommendations?

Anybody diagnosed with laryngeal hypersensitivity/neuropathy? And if so, what treatment have you been given?
My doctor prescribed me pregabalin, 75 mg twice a day. Unbelievably, I now have about 85 -90 percent relief in symptoms. After 50 years of constant throat clearing, I am extremely pleased with the results.
@bpske hey what was your symptoms

Hi. Although I had no pain in my neck or throat, after 50 years of constant throat clearing, too many to remember visits to ent's with no results, my primary doctor diagnosed me with laryngeal hypersensitivity. As stated before, the pregabalin that was prescribed, relieved my throat clearing by 80-85 percent. Which, after 50 years, is unbelievably wonderful.
