Keytruda & Fatigue: What helps decrease fatigue?

Posted by abob @abob, Feb 15 7:39pm

My husband just had his 14th Keytruda . He now gets more fatigued after each 3 week infusion, plus lack of appetite. I figure 2 years = approx 34 treatments. I hope he agrees to continue on with them.

Any suggestions to decrease his fatigue?

@nik28t, 30 rounds?! you're an expert by now. Will you remain on this treatment, it's obviously been effective for you?

I'm stage 4a CRC with mets throughout my lymphatic system. I'll probably be on some sort of treatment for life. It's been very effective for the most part. One stubborn lymph node that continues to grow and the rest have completely return to normal or reduced in size. Tumor was successful removed surgically. I meet for a radiation consultation next week to see of we can knock out that stubborn one.

Husband just had 4hr electrophysiology procedure to esp to fix 2 afib areas.
He has had minimal fatigue and increased appetite since. Now need to discuss with oncologist if Keytruda needs to stop,

He had the procedure Monday, home next day . afib ablations on both sides. Put on Amodarone, made BP spike! Reading all its bad side effects.

Hi - I also had a rash from Keytruda on my chest. By the third infusion I started noticing I was getting colitis - mucus with stools which then over a series of days turned into some bad diarrhea which I ended up having for weeks. This is just my story by the way. I went to the hospital and stayed for five weeks - losing over 30 pounds as I could hardly eat my stomach and intestines were so inflamed. But I was one of those people who developed a bad reaction to the drug. Even though I went through all that - the cancer was killed and it is now five years later. It was worth it to me for such a great outcome. I believe the Keytruda killed off anything else that was brewing in my body. Does that help - it was my experience. That you are experiencing the rash - that alone tells me the Keytruda is working.

I was put on amiodorone after I got afib after the lung surgery. Seems it's very helpful for afib. And the scientists discovered that by accident. Took it in pill form for about three months and then got off it - sounded like it could turn your skin blue - not to scare anybody! I always find it helpful to read up on these drugs for side effects. Now take a betablocker - attenolol for it and it keeps my blood pressure down a bit.

Thx. Since amiodorone has many detrimental side effects, I am hoping he only needs to take it for a short while.
