Good evening @1943. Please let me welcome you to Connect and the Skin Health group. I have been "fighting" very difficult skin issues for a couple of years now. The itching is my main nightmare. I have changed everything that touches my skin, cosmetics, bedding, laundry soap, shampoo, etc. etc. I use a daily Rx ointment and an OTC anti-itch pill. I am currently struggling to get rid of some pretty awful areas on and around my knee. I had a TKR, total knee replacement 7 weeks ago and the skin on that leg is having a tough time. I don't know if this outbreak is from the surgery or not. What makes me wonder is that only the surgery leg is covered with itch evidence.
What medications, both topical and pill form have you experienced.

I have just been diagnosed with so. Over the past 10 months my arms and legs have been attacked by these sk’s. I am totally mortified and scared. I don’t know how to make them stop. I went to four dermatologists with each giving me the same awful diagnosis.. They each said it like it was no big deal and then handed me a brochure with pictures of these ugly warts! How awful. Please can anyone give me advice on how to stop them from appearing . I am so scared,they are everywhere. Any ideas will help!

Seems odd they are so noticeable in just 10 months. Mine have been growing for over 50 years. One big growth I thought was a SK turned out to be a large malignant melanoma back in 1992 so it pays to watch them on a regular basis. My derms have never recommended freezing them off unless they are in a sensitive area that can cause problems when rubbing against clothes, etc. Some people on here seem to have them frozen off more often. I believe they told me the would likely grow back. A couple years ago a Derm cut one out which took forever to heal and there are still remnants. Mine are mostly on my back, chest and scalp. I have a couple on my upper arms. Sorry I can't give you any good news. I spent a lot of time in the sun the summer I turned 17 and, I guess, that's what caused this problem. Good luck.
Aww I’m sorry to hear that you have shingles. At least they will go away.
Do you have any suggestions on how to cope with sk? The derms make it sound like no biggie. They didn’t have suggestions on how to stop them or fade them. I went to 4 different derms hoping someone could help me find the root cause. Unfortunately, they said no one knows. Then they told me well good news it’s not cancer and these are common lesions and once you’ve had one they are going to keep coming. Great news is right, it’s not cancer. But Common? I don’t know of one person who has these on their skin. And they offer no hope..like I have freckles or something. I’m really not a vain person at all, but these spots are everywhere and they keep coming! It sucks to say the least. I am researching and praying that someone has had some luck with getting rid of these or stopping them. 😪

I just had a section of skin 1 x 8 inches removed because extreme itching

Thank you for responding back. Have you or do you know of anyone who has had them lasered off?
Sorry, no. Found out today that I also have shingles. Already had Grover's Disease. I've hit the trifecta. Colorful anyway.
