Kennel recommendations in Rochester for an out of towner

Posted by Scott, Volunteer Mentor @IndianaScott, Aug 15, 2019

Good afternoon all! I guess this is mostly for those here who live in the Rochester area. I am coming into Mayo for the MCSMN conference and will have my dog along with me. She's a yellow Lab.

Anyone have suggestions for a good kennel to use when in town for four days or so?

I wonder if Concierge Services (@jannaconciergeb) has kennel recommendations? @IndianaScott, I'm sure many people wish to have man's best friend near by for longer medical stays at Mayo Clinic. I'm also tagging @kanaazpereira @lisalucier @cynaburst @kariulrich on this discussion as they may have ideas.

I have heard great things about Kari's suggestion. Here's another possibility:

Hello @IndianaScott, welcome to Rochester! @colleenyoung, @jannaconciergeb is not with Concierge Services and we are working on finding a suitable replacement. Below are few more suggestions;

Bear Creek Kennels- Pet Services:

Cascade Animal Medical Center

Leashes & Leads:

Clip N' Dip:

Rusty Oaks Kennels-Pet Services:

I hope you find these helpful.

Hi @IndianaScott,

All of the above are very good recommendations, although I find Leashes & Leads to be rather expensive. We haven’t had the opportunity to board Lola with Rusty Oaks Kennels-Pet Services but I’ve heard great things about them.

I'm trying Leads an Leashes, day care and boarding, plus Barky Bus for transportation if needed.

I personally use Leashes and Leads. They are on the pricy side but I feel comfortable leaving my dog there. The Kennel is clean, they offer play time, staff are friendly.

P-K Pet Resort and spa is a great option to for dog boarding. They also have grooming and pet pick-up service.
