Just started guanFACINE. Success/failure stories???

Now on 1mg for about a week. I can’t tell if it’s effective for the brain fog, but it does make my blood pressure drop and it’s always been on the low side.
Hoping this stabilizes because I’d rather not faint any time soon.

Are you taking it with NAC? I take 1000mg with the Guanfacine at bedtime, and I find it really helps, both in clearing the fog and improving my overall mood. I am also taking an ADHD stimulant medication (Vyvanse) for brain fog, and it may be the combined effect that makes the difference for me. The stimulant also raises blood pressure, which could be a good thing in your case. I am "fortunate" enough to have high blood pressure, so that effect of the Guanfacine is beneficial in my case.

Last summer I stepped up from 0.5mg to 1 mg to 2 mg of guanfacine over four weeks. Plus 600 mg NAC, taking both at bedtime. It was truly amazing how much it helped my brain fog! I went from working part time to back to full time. I also have high blood pressure so I did not have negative side effects from the guanfacine. Unfortunately it did not get me back to 100% cognitive function, but it did make a huge difference. I have tried multiple other things since then. The one other thing that has helped the most is lion's mane, a supplement recommended by my doctor. I take 1 gram of that in capsule form before lunch time. Between the guanfacine and the lion's mane, (plus hard to know how much other stuff is helping) I feel much more like myself with my thinking ability. The guanfacine made such a difference to me, I highly recommend talking to a doctor about it to anyone who is suffering from brain fog!
