Dang it! I've been trying to tell my doctors, but they're not listening. I was sick for 5 weeks in October last year (2025) when I finally went to the ER, dehydrated, starving, and having serious tremors. Doctor kept trying to admit me to their alcohol detox ward. Finally he gave me a bag of saline solution, a bottle of Gatorade, and wished me luck. I . He didn't even seem to believe I had a virus for the first 20 minutes.
This week I made an appointment with another doctor who admitted that she really didn't know anything about COVID or the long aftereffects. Then they criticize you for relying on Google for information.
I started a new job as a cook a few weeks ago. I thought I was up for it as I have been back to work since mid December, but the high stress of it; caused what were mild occasional tremors to become severe. I had to quit the job. It's subsiding a bit now, but not by much..
This is so frustrating, especially when you need to work and you don't qualify for disability help because it's supposedly not a permanent condition, and you're stuck in a system not really interested in helping.
All total, I was sick for 8 weeks, took 4 more weeks to recover enough to work, and now been unemployed for another month. Out of 9 months, I've only been able to work for 5. But I don't qualify for assistance. Go figure.
Best of luck to you.

@mountainmarge The doctor you saw must be living under a rock if they don’t know what Covid or Long Covid is!! I’m appalled! This sounds skeptical Mountainmarge!

Look into having Stellate Ganglion Block injections. They are injections into your Parasympathetic Nerves, located in your neck of Lidocaine. I had 7 of them done over a period of time and the 7th one finally took my body tremors away. I still struggle with no taste or smell, but the body tremors were awful as well. Good luck!

Since having Covid early on, I developed twitching in my fingers and then full-blown involuntary movements over my entire body called myoclonus and we’re experiencing our myoclonic seizures. If you do a ChatGPT search on Covid induced myoclonus case studies, you’ll see European studies that show how they were able to cure the issue with IVIG and Plex therapy for the blood.

I’ve been battling this for six years and I’ve tried every supplement I’ve done countless hours of research and gone to more doctors I could ever imagine

None of them know anything about this so you have to bring the information to them or seek out a myoclonus specialist within the neurology field

Electrolytes are definitely a huge part of the process and when you are low, you will have more severe jerking/seizures

Trazodone is what I utilize to sleep, for me because I have a severe case I take 250 mg

Consider doing the research and speaking with your doctor.

The only thing that I’ve seen in the case studies that will cure us is IVIG and Plex blood therapy, which I have found to be very difficult to get approved in the state of California.

Lots of long haulers report myoclonic jerks (sudden involuntary muscle twitches), hypnic jerks upon falling asleep, and severe muscle spasms that can number in the "thousands per minute," often affecting the arms, legs, and face. Doc put me on electrolytes for mine (so drink a sugar free version one all day) and magnesium supplements. I use a time release dimagnesium malate as it does not make me as explosive as other types of magnesium. I can tell when I am low as my calves will cramp. Be sure to check with your doc to see if that might help you.
