Intensely itchy nose?
I have seen my skin doctor twice, and no one seems to be able to figure this out. For probably the past six or eight months, possibly longer, the end of my nose, meaning both nostrils, and the tip, and the skin connecting to the upper lip, itch like crazy. Not 24 seven, it's sort of comes in waves and is unbelievably intense. There is no visible rash, I have had skin scrapings taken and looked at, and there's no sign of anything, Including rosacea. It is not accompanied by any classic allergic symptoms that I have ever had. My eyes are fine, no itching or running. No running in my nose, just unbelievable itching as if it is the entire tissue of the whole end of my nose. Not the bridge of my nose, just the whole end of it from the edge of one nostril across the top and down and over to the next nostril. It's like the flesh itself itches. Not on the surface and not just inside, it's the flesh. It is unbelievably intense, and I rubbed my nose back-and-forth into my pillow and sometimes pinch it as hard as I can. It's insanity! Has anybody ever ever had this sort of thing or have any idea of what the heck is going on? I have tried taking antihistamines. It's during the winter, during dry periods warm periods humid periods. Doesn't matter....thanks!

That sounds very distressing. I’ve had a recurring, intermittent itch on my limbs for years that hasn’t been diagnosed. It’s frustrating.
Is there any reason you posted this thread under women’s health? Are you seeing an ENT?
I’ll just share what I have heard about this kind of itch. Have any of your doctors mentioned if it’s nerves that are causing the itch? Meds to calm those nerves help some people.
The issues with my nose ( multiple symptoms, with some itching) were helped with saline nasal spray, i realize that sounds simple, however something about the saline really helps that area, imo. My doctor had suggested it.
Years ago, but not recently, I would get nose itching after eating ice cream. I took it as an allergy. I no longer have it. I had a full allergy panel that revealed no allergies.
Best of luck with finding a remedy.

2 ReactionsThere are specific terminal nerves that supply the nose,
It is possible that you have neuropathic itch.
My dermatologist gave me a sample of Zoryve and it worked for my similar situation on my ear.
Other topicals like pramoxine cream may help.

2 ReactionsFor your consideration: I've had something similar with my outer ear helixes. Also went to providers with different kinds of creams/steroids etc. I determined on my own that when I am experiencing a reaction to something else (in my case it was extreme mosquito bites- or 'skeeter syndrome'-yes its a thing!) that the reaction was a systemic issue and was affecting my ears simply because of the earrings. Even tho they were solid gold- in my reactive state, my body was targeting those as foreign also. I remove the earrings whenever I start getting a skin reaction elsewhere and no more ear itchies. So, you didn't say, but if you have a body piercing in your nose, or upper lip or tongue area, even if it's non allergy/gold it may still cause you issues at times.

4 ReactionsDo you have allergies?
My nose itches from time to time and sodas other parts of my body. And my doctor told me it is allergies. There is something I’m being exposed to that is causing the itching.
Just a word or two of for thought
Wish you the best

2 Reactions@cudellbear thanks and actually one thing that I’ve been wondering about, I started wearing Hearing Aids in the past year. I wonder if it’s related to that? True the little things that go in your ear have sort of silicone cups over them, but still… Seems a little ironic. I’m going to pursue this, thank you!

1 Reaction@celia16 thank you, and I posted it here because I couldn’t find any other topic regarding nose or nose itching! But thanks to the replies I’ve gotten I think there’s a couple possibilities and I also I’m going to try the saline nasal spray! Thank you!

4 Reactions@tcokeefe , I’m glad you got some ideas. I learned some things myself that may apply to my particular itch.
