Is trazodone ok if I have AFib?
Have had AFib for one year, and one ablation.
Have trouble getting and staying asleep.
PCP prescribed Trazodone to help with sleep, which was approved by my cardiologist.
Everything I find in Ai, Google Chrome, and Mayo Clinic Connect, indicate that I should not take it if I have AFib
Anyone out there with this experience?
Thanks for your response.

1 ReactionHi there—just chiming in with my experience: I was diagnosed with AFib back in 2017 and had an ablation in 2023 (2.5 years later, no AFib episodes). I’ve been on trazodone the entire time—for sleep—and so far, it’s worked for me and I haven’t experienced any issues. My PCP originally prescribed it for my insomnia, and my cardiologist and internist are aware. I totally get your concern—it’s confusing when you see warnings online that trazodone might be risky for people with AFib. Best of luck finding your sleep stability 😴
