Is there anything else I haven’t done?
I have a arachnoiditis. I have had several spinal surgeries. I have had several injections on my spine. I have had blockers I’ve done acupuncture. I’ve had tons of rounds of physical therapy, including aqua therapy. Is there anything else that I might have missed to help this excruciating back pain? Thank you for any and all advice. I have been in this pain for 15 years.

@giselemiller Have any of your doctors recommended a spinal cord stimulator? I had one that worked well in controlling my lower back pain. The trial is minimally invasive and should give you a good idea if it will help you.

5 ReactionsOMG, a mirror of myself in your statement, except I do not have arachnoiditis. My problem is stenosis and four back surgeries. Should have never had the first one. Since 2007, severe back pain and only get worse. Been through all your rehabs, nothing, so my latest if the medtronic pain pump (model # 8667-20). I was told it was better than spinal cord stimulator, so now a pump that is not offering much relief. Dr. Pain has morphine as the ingredient, so next refill will ask if something else will help. Investigate Medtronic before implanting this hockey puck..

4 Reactions@heisenberg34 - thank you for your response to my post. When I had bad sciatica, the doctor mentioned a stimulator, but I declined because a friend of mine got one and came out paralyzed from the waist down so I’m chicken. The doctor has said that it primarily works for sciatica not for my current condition. I’ve had oblations also. The good news is that I no longer have severe sciatica. I had it in both legs and had to drive with hand controls. Again thank you for your wonderful suggestion. Have a great day.
@jsb932l - thank you for your wonderful suggestion. Thank you for reading my post. The only reason I haven’t gotten the pain pump is the same reason that you are going to ask for a different drug in yours. I have never heard of one that works. I have a morphine patch along with oral medications. They don’t help much but they’re better than nothing. Again thank you for your response to my post. Best of luck to you with a new medication in your pain pump. I’m sorry that you’re having to go through this too. It’s excruciating.

1 Reaction@jsb932l Sorry to hear what you have been through. Thanks for giving your experience with the pain pump. My Girlfriend is going on a similar path. Kyphoplasty that made pain from a fracture worse, many injections, a epidural, ablation, and SCS. Not much relief or very fleeting. Hours of relief on occasion.
The SCS doctor wants to try a Epidural in a different area from the first one she had. He also mentioned a Cluneal Nerve Block. His choice was the Epidural. We are mulling it over. Pain pump hasn't been suggested yet, but we will be cautious about it. Good luck. I hope it get's solved for you ASAP.
@cman55 - thank you for reading my post. I am so sorry that your girlfriend is going through this too. It’s the most frustrating painful life. I hope she finds relief from something. My sister-in-law and I have tried absolutely everything we can think of and we both suffer severely. Good luck to you and your girlfriend. I hope she finds relief. Again, thank you for reading my post.
