Is there anyone that had estrogen positive cancer, without use of AI?
Is there anyone with stage 1 breast cancer, estrogen positive that had a lumpectomy followed by radiation without any other treatment and has remained cancer free?

Right now I’m scheduled for lumpectomy next week- the surgeon has me day before the surgery getting a radioactive seed placed in area of cancer
radiation treatment I think few weeks after - then if all is good I’m done - I turned 70 Dec and the more I’m reading abt the hormone receptors I’m not sure I will head in that direction with radiation.
Wow- cancer came back on brca negative? I’m so confused with Whts point of brca test?? I was diagnosed in June T1 Small her2-neg brca negative E&P positive
my surgery is next week lumpectomy - my decision is still out in hormone receptors.
From what i understand, brca test only indicates those with genetic predisposition, but cancer can recur in anyone. I was one of the unlucky rare (I think I read only about 3% have local recurrence) ones to have a local recurrence, and this was despite the radiation. Maybe if I had taken the AI it would have prevented it. Maybe the radiation delayed the recurrence (what one dr suggested). I also wondered if the biopsies done to diagnose the bc somehow spread cancer cells beyond the original tumor since that can apparently happen and they had a difficult time during multiple attempts to get a sample. Since I am experiencing zero noticeable AI side effects, I would recommend trying them. No idea why I seem spared when others seem to have huge effects. If that happens, one can still opt to stop.
