Is there a quick fix for anxiety problems?
Hello, My name is Megan. I work for a web app. Lately, my workload at the office has significantly increased, causing me to suffer from anxiety. As a result, I took a supplement called GOLI, which was suggested by a colleague. However, the supplement didn't help me at all. My problems are getting worse day by day, causing major disruptions in my daily life and work.
What should I do now? Is there anyone here, or any respected senior member, who can offer me a good solution? It would be very helpful if someone could provide a good suggestion.

Hello @kmegan, glad you found us on the forum. I also suffered from extreme anxiety for several years and as far as “quick fixes” go, here are some suggestions while you seek the advice of a doctor. First off, if you drink caffeine, stop. Secondly, I looked up Goli and saw that it contains Ashwagandha which did help me a little but I took Organic India in capsule form which was 400 mg and was recommended by a naturopathic doctor. Gaba Calm by Source Naturals helped me much more for quite awhile. CBD by Myriams or another reputable brand may help. If you are approaching perimenopause, you might get your hormones checked, and while you are at it, have the doc run a 12 hour cortisol test. I also recommend having your thyroid tested. In the end, my anxiety was caused in part from the stress I was under, having sold my home, moved to another state and a big city to help my daughter out babysitting my 2 grandchildren and it was too stressful for me. My doc there at the time told me to get out from under the situation that was causing me stress. I ended up having to move back to my old state and luckily met my (now) husband. Anxiety is so debilitating so I have great empathy for what you are going through. We are not meant to handle the constant stress loads which is so common in our society and eventually the bucket gets full and overflows. But a good physical exam and blood work is always a good place to start because it may turn up Low Vitamin D, low thyroid etc. Pray and ask God to help you. Prayer is powerful especially if you have someone else to pray with you.
Did your Dr. warn you that anti-psychotic drugs can cause Tardive Dyskinesia and you don’t want that!!! I had been on many different medications for anxiety and I ended up with TD. It never goes away and the drugs for it don’t work for most people. I’m now trying to handle my anxiety with supplements which I haven’t been too successful with yet. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I’m trying meditation but not very good at it yet. Reike helps. I exercise a lot and that does help.
I probably shouldn’t say this but I find a quick hit of THC helps.
CBT was a fairly quick fix for my anxiety about ten years ago that caused me to choke on my breathing in the middle of a winter night, seeing emergency and eventually told that I was fretting about something too much and was offered CBT help, which I declined, telling them I know CBT and I can do it myself; to assure me my next sleep I won't get up chocking, I was provided a med that would within seconds will clear choking.
I sat with myself, and asked: Your anxiety is well placed as anyone who sees his five years of full-time effort writing, researching, getting edited an over 100,000 word document sees a WASTE, as no one is interested, is Also a Fact of LIFE.
Painful realization, but I never had another attack.
