Is it recommend to take a break from wegovy ?

My daughter has been on Wegovy for 5 mos. She lost 40 pounds! Yay! Her Dr and pharmacist told her is usual for patients to take a break. I never heard of that. Thoughts?
And my daughter should have sent to RD because she doesn’t know how to eat.

Hi, @merrychristmas - I personally did not find taking a break from semaglutide (Wegovy) to be beneficial in my weight loss journey. I had lost 53 pounds on it, but I was having horrible gastrointestinal side effects. So, after a digital chat with my doctor, she asked me to stop it completely for a month to test and ensure the side effects were resolved without those shots. They were. Then I began the slow journey going up on dosage of another weight loss shot, which ultimately did not prove to be terribly successful for me. All told, I regained about 20 pounds.

Do you know more about why your daughter's doctor and pharmacist said that it is usual for patients to take a break from semaglutide (Wegovy)? Has she made a decision on what to do?
