Is anyone using a cpap mask that's causing face wrinkles

Posted by summer091111 @summer091111, Nov 24 10:23pm

I've been using a cpap mask for a year and noticing how it's wrinkling my face so much. I'm struggling with the masks I've tried but can't seem to find the right fit. Can anyone please tell me what else I can do to keep from aging so fast? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I recommend the Resmed P10 nose pillows.

Sure thing buddy. Good healthy balanced food and vitamins supplements, and protein in powder form you can add to your green juice which I recommend, although for fiber benefits from fruits and vegetables it’s recommended to eat whole vegetables and fruits. One can always use Metamucil for fiber of course exercise, aerobic and isometric (weights), you can take the powder protein three or twice a week and before you do the weights; it’s important to clear it with your doctor before taking supplements and especially the protein, since depending on your kidney function it may be prohibited for you. Also be careful with the calcium and magnesium supplements. Also if you want to keep from aging too fat, your mental health is very important, as well as as spiritual growth. There are also some hormonal treatments that claim to help keep you young. I’ve read recently that intermittent fasting is good and you might want to look up klotho protein, for this you might want to give ChatGPT. It’s quite refreshing to hear you want to take care of yourself in a preventative kind of way. Godspeed to you 😃

@doclarrea thank you very much for sharing this information with me. But I think these crinkles on my cheeks are more from the cpap mask. I've been using the cpap 1 year and I started noticing that it's more crinkles then wrinkles. Things I've tried and still trying doesn’t seem to be working. I'm only 69 and up until I was diagnosed with sleep apena last year I didn't show anything on my face. So I've been very curious if this is something normsl that happens while using a cpap mask, if anyone else on cpap machine noticed the same or something like not having a proper mask. I've spoke to my dr about it but she doesn't know, I've seen a dermatologist and all she did was offered her expensive creams or face lift that would cost an arm and a leg or more. But no real answers to my question. Does this happen using a cpap mask?

@doclarrea thank you very much for the recommendation. Would you happen to know if this one would work if I sleep with my mouth open on and off throughout the night? I looked it up and would like it to keep the F20 off my face.

I also have jaw problems that makes hard to fine one that works for me.

If I could add one idea here. My husband uses the CPAP. And I'm a two-time head and neck cancer survivor. Part of my cancer recovery was face and neck self massage to move the lymph fluid under the skin. My husband wakes up with the same puffiness I have everyday. Light touch self massage may help with the wrinkles and give you better facial skin health.
There is a PT who teaches lymphatic massage on YouTube. Look for her video for head and neck cancer patients. She's at http://www.CancerRehabPT.com. Worth a try.

Yes I have been using the Cpap with nose pillows for 10 years now . I sleep on my left side and the mask portion significantly wrinkled my left cheek area. About 2 years ago I started pulling my silk face mask down under the area where the mask crosses my face . I do believe it has stopped the wrinkling although the previous wrinkling is permanent ..on another note , if anyone is experiencing dry mouth , my dentist told me to use xylimelts nightly . Dry mouth significantly impacts your teeth and dry mouth no longer wakes me up . My doctor ordered a chin strap but I will not use anything that will create more wrinkles !! Hope this helps ..

Hello. I use the nose pillows air fit P10 and I have a problem with the dry mouth, usually keep a glass of water on my nightstand and if I wake up in the middle of the night a drink of water helps.

It is unquestionable that a man designed these masks. No woman would design something that pulls facial skin down. 🙄
I have strap wraps (get on Amazon) and I have tried 2 full face and 2 nasal masks. They all suck. I use the Fisher and Paykel Solo now. At least the strap mark is narrow. I have gotten peaceful with occasional leakage above target levels. I refuse to allow a freaking mask make me feel like a failure 🙂
