Is anyone taking Nuzyra for M. Abscesses or other?
Nuzyra is a new antibiotic used to treat M. Abscesses. It should be taken after 4 hours of fasting and prior to 2 more hours of fasting. I decided to take at 10 PM, but now I can't sleep. Insomnia is a side effect. I'm taking Linezolid at 6 AM and 6 PM, and Arikayce at 11 AM. Since I want to space out my drugs, now thinking on changing my time. Anyone else having or had this issue? Did the insomnia subside? I'm thinking set alarm for maybe 3 AM and take then? I'm doing good with Linezolid taking with toast in the morning and dinner at night. Though Linezolid is complicated too, since diet should be low or void of Tyramines to help avoid side effects.

I've been nebulizing twice per day with 7% NaCl, which really helped me. There's a company that's building a phage bank. I can't recall the name, but the founder was diagnosed with M. Abscessus maybe 10 years ago-not sure if he ever got rid of it, but it was a motivator to start up his company. If I find their contact info, I will post it.
Hi. I have been taking nuzyra for 18 months. I found night was best. I used to do first thing in morning but made me ill waiting the 2 hours to eat. I was also on linezolid- but it ended up becoming resistant so I stopped that. I’m also on bedaquline and clofazimine. My symptoms have been better but scans are still questionable, after 18months so I’m now adding in arikayce. Hoping this is the magic cocktail. : )

I was on IV Imipenem when I was on IV Amikacin. About 6 weeks ago I became short of breath with a high heart rate and flutters and was put on oxygen 24/7. ID doc doesn't know if from abscesses or pulmonary fibrosis. Suggested putting PICC line back and starting amikacin again since it was the only drug susceptible in susceptibility testing.

1 ReactionI am taking NUZYRA for acute feliculitis, just got the medication today. Am going to set an alarm for 3am to avoid the complications of fasting and restrictions on other medications. Is their anyone else taking this for feliculitis, I had sores all over my scalp to start and eventually I couldn’t shave because I got sores in my beard line, been dealing with this for 5 months hopefully this NUZYRA 150mg tabs twice daily will solve this problem.
Has anyone else been treated with this drug for feliculitis.
